About Théa
I am a third-year Biochemistry student at McGill and an aspiring medical student with a strong passion for science and education. I previously worked as a TEAM mentor for Calculus 2 at McGill, helping students build stronger problem-solving skills and greater confidence. I enjoy helping students understand challenging concepts in a clear and approachable way through personalized and interactive lessons. My goal is not only to help students improve academically but also to make learning more engaging, rewarding, and enjoyable.

I believe that strong learning comes from understanding concepts rather than memorizing formulas. My goal as a tutor is to help students build confidence, develop problem-solving skills, and become more independent learners. My teaching approach is personalized to each student’s learning style and academic goals. Lessons are interactive and paced according to the student’s needs. A typical lesson plan would include:
- Review of previous material or homework questions
- Explanation of new concepts with clear examples
- Guided practice problems completed together
- Independent problem-solving to build confidence
- Summary and key takeaways, with optional practice suggestions for continued improvement
My lessons are for elementary, middle school, and high school students seeking support in mathematics, chemistry, or general science.

Thea is a friend of a friend. As a tutor, I would say that her greatest advantage is knowing how to adapt to each students’ needs (not teaching me the same way she would another student), and how focused she is on the end goal (the exam). She always tries from the beginning of the lesson to prepare us for the exam. She really helped me, especially when I get anxious.
I highly recommend Théa as a math tutor. I’ve known her since we were kids, and throughout the years she has always been hardworking, patient and dedicated. Her encouraging and supportive attitude helps people feel confident and comfortable asking questions. Théa truly cares about her students’ success.
I met Théa while volunteering at the Montreal General Hospital. She had been volunteering there longer than I had and was incredibly welcoming and helpful in teaching me the role. She is kind, patient, and genuinely makes people feel comfortable and supported. I have no doubt those qualities make her an excellent tutor as well.
