About Adam
Unlike many tutors, I tutor for the joy of helping my students succeed in their studies and achieving the best they can. I have a genuine passion for science, particularly chemistry and physics and love helping my peers and students in furthering their understanding and achieving the best they can be.
With a career in university-level education in mind, teaching younger students at the earliest level in their academic life is the perfect place to not only gain experience as a teacher but also to pass on my love for the subject and inspire the next generation.
I am a third-year chemistry student at the University of Nottingham, finishing top of my class in my second year of study. I am currently on placement as an analytical scientist at a global pharmaceutical company. I achieved A*s in all my science GCSE's including chemistry and physics and achieved A*AA at A level in economics, physics and chemistry respesctively.

I teach GCSE level physics and chemistry lessons across the full specification with the student's needs at the forefront of my sessions. I have experience helping family members with their GCSE studies across different subjects and have been involved with tutoring my university peers.
I aim to plan my sessions beforehand, based on topic areas you have preidentified as areas you would like to cover. I ultimately aim to still be adaptable, however, should they change what they want to cover at short notice, and am happy to help with homework questions etc. that may arise. Sessions will generally last an hour but I can be adaptable to this.
Lessons will start with a clear set of goals and finish with a summary of what has been covered. I will also provide clear links as to what parts of the specification the topics relate to. I will initially start with the basic understanding of the topic at hand and then move into some example questions.
I aim to build a safe learning environment in which students are comfortable to make questions and make mistakes, and try to improve not only my student's understanding of the topic at hand but also their exam skills.
