Methodology
My teaching method is based on an indirect, guided approach to learning. I help the student learn with the knowledge they already have, guiding them through questions while encouraging critical thinking in order to increase independence. I fill in empty gaps of knowledge where needed, but strongly encourage and guide students to learn how to find answers themselves.
Background
I am a junior in college studying Clinical Psychology with a minor in Early Childhood Development and Education. I have tutored general education subjects (algebra, biology, psychology, and English composition) mainly within my family, and have helped my younger family members achieve increased grade averages as a result of my tutoring. In high school and college, I received high A averages in all subjects listed above, and I continue to read and do workbooks in these areas to increase my ability to help others.
