I follow the same method to my students, that I use for my subjects, with a little modifications for my students.
I'll first find out what the student knows about the subject, then I start with my teaching. I'll teach everything that's required to be taught. Simultaneously, ask questions and help them with their doubts. Once I am done with the topic, I'll give set of questions for them to practice and then conduct a test the next day.
After the correction of test papers, I'll know their weakness and help them with their difficulties.
