My lessons are designed for primary school pupils who require tuition in order to achieve their full potential at school. I will begin with a warm-up exercise to allow my students to feel ready to learn. This is followed by a forty-minute session focusing on a particular area of the curriculum. In the final ten minutes, I will hand out a task to be completed at home for the following session. Finally, we will finish with a fun cool-down activity designed to inspire and encourage future learning!
Longer sessions are available for older students.
Over the last six months, I have been teaching English as a foreign language to Dutch primary school pupils. My responsibilities included constructing lesson plans and ensuring my classes were engaging for varying levels of English. As part of my university course, I have also been involved in teaching pupils from the ages of four to twelve in Scottish primary schools. My tasks included helping groups of children with literacy and numeracy, monitoring behaviour in the classroom, and supporting children with learning difficulties. In my free time, I have helped out in P.E, dance, and swimming lessons. This has allowed me to gain experience with active learning in different settings and work with toddlers through to teenagers.
