About Aliceah
I am a third year undergraduate student-athlete at UCSB, majoring in Communication, minoring in Professional Writing, and seeking my Sport Management Certificate. I play on the UCSB Women's Basketball team and I am extremely motivated to give back to my community and help young students in my area. I have been tutoring for approximately 6 years and my students have made letter grade improvements under my teaching. I do not specialize in a specific subject, but have more experience in helping students with English/Writing and History. Regarding my tutoring sessions, I focus on helping students with their homework and I assist them in further retaining and understanding the content they learn at school.

I approach each tutoring session with a "check-in." I will ask my student how they are doing with the content they are currently learning and I will assess which areas they need more help in. After the check-in, we will look at the student's assignments and I will begin to simplify the work and focus my lesson on the student's struggling areas. I focus my teaching on a brief overview of what content we are going to cover that day and then I will break down the lesson as much as possible until my student is able to understand the information. I will always leave my student with a contact number, in order to assist with any further questions or further help after the lesson.

If you cancel 2 days in advance, there will be no fee. If you cancel the day before the lesson, there will be a $10 cancellation fee. If you cancel the day of, the fee will be $15.
