I usually like to look at the topic we are dealing with for the day before hand prepare notes with formulas and basics. I explain the topic firstly and where each formula is applied then later look at question papers to polish up and make sure there was understanding and also answer any question the learner might have. I have found this effective mostly even for my learners in matric working towards exam prep
