About Youssef

I am a Computer Science student at Simon Fraser University in good academic standing, with a strong passion for teaching and helping others succeed. I have extensive experience in STEM education, technical writing, curriculum development, and peer tutoring in math. These experiences have strengthened my ability to guide students through problem-solving, logical thinking, and clear understanding of complex ideas. As a STEAM trainer, I’ve worked with students who started with no computer knowledge and helped them reach the point where they successfully created their own final projects. This experience taught me how to adapt to each student’s pace and build confidence step by step. I’m known for being patient, adaptable, and clear in my explanations. I make sure students feel comfortable asking questions and motivated to keep improving. Over time, I’ve seen my students make consistent progress and achieve higher grades, which is one of the most rewarding parts of teaching for me. Creating a supportive and encouraging learning environment is always my priority, one where students can grow, gain confidence, and reach their full potential.

About the lesson

As a university student myself, I understand how students think and what they need to truly grasp each concept. My goal is to help students learn and understand, not just memorize. I focus on developing problem-solving skills and building confidence in approaching math questions independently.

1. Teaching Methodology
I combine clear explanations, step-by-step guidance, and active practice. Complex ideas are broken into simple, logical steps, supported by visual aids and real-life examples to make learning more engaging and meaningful.

2. Patience and Adaptability
I’m known as a patient tutor who adapts explanations based on each student’s understanding. If a concept isn’t clear, I always find a new way to explain it until it makes sense.

3. Lesson Structure
Each lesson starts with a short review, followed by introducing new concepts, then applying them to progressively challenging problems. I provide regular feedback and personalized exercises to turn weak areas into strengths.

4. Individualized Focus
I identify both the strengths and weaknesses of each student. I use their strengths to motivate progress and tailor my teaching to help them overcome difficulties effectively.

5. Who I Teach
My lessons are for high school and university students, especially those studying Pre-Calculus, Calculus I & II, or related math courses. I offer sessions online or in the Vancouver area for flexible, personalized support.
