About Ayaan
Hi! I am a second-year BSCS student at UVA, TJHSST grad, and Mathnasium instructor (1 year) that has had a passion for teaching since I started high school and over 4 years of experience. I have worked with various kinds of settings, including 1-on-1, small group, and large classes. I enjoy mathematics a lot—I participated in competitive math through middle and high school and have understood math differently than most people since I was little—and wish to help students feel the same way about math. I also like math-adjacent subjects like coding/computer science, physics, and chemistry.

I meet students where they are, and then help them grow! I don't take shortcuts—my goal is always to teach the concept in a way that students can recall, apply, and extend. Students have different ways of learning, and that's OK, I will meet students where they are as long as they are eager to learn! Lesson plans will be tailored to individual needs, but typical sessions can involve going over homework, online or textbook practice questions or tests, or lecture-style sessions. I will make sure you really understand what you have learned before we're done! I can teach any level, from elementary math to SAT/ACT level math, calculus, computer science, physics, or chemistry
