About Ishan
Hi, I’m Ishan. As a Year 13 student currently studying A-Level Mathematics and Further Mathematics. I have a fresh and in-depth understanding of the current curriculum. Having achieved a Grade 9 in my own GCSE Maths recently, I know exactly what examiners are looking for and how to maximise marks. I am a reliable, punctual, and organised tutor who creates a friendly environment where students feel comfortable asking the 'silly' questions they might not ask in class. I am serious about my students’ success and aim to be the mentor I wish I had during my GCSEs.

I believe that Maths is not just about memorising formulas, but about understanding the "why" behind the numbers. My lessons are relaxed and student-led. I use a "I do, We do, You do" approach—first I demonstrate a concept, then we solve a problem together, and finally, the student tries one independently to build confidence. I focus heavily on identifying gaps in knowledge from previous years that might be holding the student back.
I am currently a Year 13 student studying Maths, Further Maths and Physics at Queen Elizabeth's School, Barnet. Having sat my own GCSEs (achieving a Grade 9), I understand the current curriculum and the pressure students face. I have a year of experience tutoring younger students.
