Teaching approach
My sessions are highly tailored, focused, and practical. I work not just as a tutor, but as a coach - supporting you step-by-step to move forward with clarity and confidence.
We work directly on your writing, so you can see immediate improvement, rather than relying on generic advice. I take the time to understand your specific challenges, goals, and deadlines, and adapt each session to what will help you most in that moment.
I am particularly experienced in supporting students with dyslexia and diverse learning needs, offering clear, structured guidance and strategies that make academic work more manageable and less overwhelming.

What a typical session looks like
Each session is structured, but flexible to your needs. We begin by identifying your priorities, challenges, and deadlines, and then work together on your draft to improve structure, clarity, argumentation, and (where relevant) methodology and analysis.
I provide clear, constructive feedback, along with examples and explanations so you understand not just what to change, but how to improve independently.
We finish each session with clear next steps, so you can continue progressing with confidence between sessions.

What makes my lessons different
I combine academic expertise with a genuinely supportive and coaching-led approach. I go above and beyond for my students - not just helping you improve your work, but helping you feel more confident, capable, and in control of your studies.
With over 20 years’ experience in teaching, supervision, and research, I understand what supervisors and examiners are really looking for, and I translate that into clear, actionable guidance.
My focus is always on helping you make meaningful progress quickly, reduce stress, and produce work you feel proud of.
