About Vid
------------------------------------------------ Education ----------------------------------------------- - Particle Physics DPhil at the University of Oxford - Theoretical Physics MSci at Imperial College London. Overall Grade: 79.49% - 1st Class (Top 5% in the cohort; ranked 7th). - IB Diploma Programme. Overall Grade: 45/45. ------------------------------------------------ Overview ------------------------------------------------ 5 years (~300 hours) of tutoring experience, from 12-year-olds to Masters students. My primary goal is to significantly elevate your understanding of both physics and maths, ultimately transforming you into a proficient problem-solving expert. I mostly focus on IB and A-level tutoring, but also take Undergraduate and GCSE students. ----------------------------------------- Tutoring Experience ------------------------------------------- I began tutoring 5 years ago during IB Diploma Programme - helping with mathematics, physics, and chemistry. In the past three years, I have specialised in Undergraduate, A-Level and IB Level physics and maths tutoring, notably helping a student from a top UK university improve by over 80% in their retake exams. In addition to physics, I have provided mathematics tutoring to secondary and high school students. Parallel to this, I have taught piano, successfully preparing a student to pass both their Grade 7 and Grade 8 exams with Distinction. My expertise extends to reviewing and advising on PhD, internship, and undergraduate application letters. With my own successful applications to prestigious UK universities, I am well-equipped to offer guidance on creating effective applications that highlight your passion and dedication to your chosen field of study.

Interactive Online Whiteboard with integrated webcam - Lessonspace My primary objective is to ensure you gain a deep understanding of physics and mathematics in our tutorials. However, mastery of the subject matter alone is often not enough to secure top grades. Many students struggle with general problem-solving and effective exam strategies. These skills are crucial and must be developed over time. Part of my teaching focuses on instilling these skills: how to approach problems, devise strategies for difficult questions, and navigate various exercise types. Students often overthink complex problems instead of following a systematic approach. Recognising and addressing this can greatly enhance your problem-solving capabilities. With my extensive experience and familiarity with various exams, I offer insights into what examiners look for and advise on presenting answers clearly and succinctly. This not only deepens your understanding but also facilitates the grading process, improving your chances of success. I value patience and acknowledge the unique learning pace of each student. My aim is to create a comfortable and encouraging environment during our sessions. This is especially important for younger students who might not initially be enthusiastic about the subjects, requiring extra motivation to find these topics engaging and enjoyable.

Recommendations
Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the teacher
Having been both a physics course-mate and flatmate of his, I have witnessed first-hand his contagious positive energy, attentiveness, generosity, and, most importantly, his consistently kind and supportive demeanor towards others. He has always helped fellow course-mates when he could, and always with a smile. I wholeheartedly recommend him as the best of tutors (and also an invaluable friend).
Goes into good depth! Good teacher
I have had the privilege of knowing Vid for four years during our undergraduate studies, and I can attest to his exceptional ability to explain complicated topics and his unwavering dedication to helping others succeed academically.
During our time at Imperial College, Vid stood out as not only a top-notch student but also as a natural mentor and teacher. Whenever any of us struggled with a challenging concept or a difficult assignment, Vid was always the go-to person for guidance. His knack for breaking down complex subjects into manageable parts and conveying them in a clear and understandable manner was truly remarkable. Whether it was late-night study sessions, group projects, or one-on-one tutoring, Vid's teaching skills shone brightly.
What sets Vid apart is not just his deep knowledge of the subjects he teaches but also his ability to connect with his students on a personal level. He is patient, approachable, and genuinely invested in the success of his peers. Vid has a unique talent for tailoring his teaching methods to suit each student's individual learning style, ensuring that everyone he mentors can grasp the material effectively.
Vid is an amazing teacher! He helped my daughter with IB Physics SL, getting her from grade 5/7 to a 7/7 after working with him throughout her second year of IB Diploma Programme. He is very understandable, flexible, patient and knows how to deliver the content. Would definitely recommend!
Vid is an extremely approachable and talented teacher that will make your learning experience as smooth as possible. He is demanding and strict when necessary, and gentle and kind when it is time to be so. You will not regret hiring Vid. The price is worth it!
He's very patient and tries his very best to make me truly understand the concepts, and not only teach me how to solve the problems, when I'm struggling with something. You can tell he's very much into physics. Would highly recommend, very approachable!
