About Shubham

Does your child know how to play chess but still keeps losing games?
Do they make simple mistakes or feel confused during matches?

This is something I see very often and it’s completely normal.

I help kids understand what’s actually happening on the board so they can start making better decisions and play with more confidence.

I’m Shubham, a chess coach with a 2100+ rating on Chess.com and 5+ years of teaching experience. I’ve worked with students at different levels and my focus is always on helping them think clearly during games rather than just memorizing moves.

Many kids know how the pieces move but struggle in real games... they play too fast, miss simple ideas or don’t know what to do next. That’s exactly what I help them improve step by step.

For students who are interested in tournaments, I also guide them on how to prepare, think during games and play with more confidence in competitive settings.

About the lesson

Every child learns differently, so I don’t follow a fixed or rigid format. The idea is to first understand how your child thinks and then guide them in a way that helps them improve naturally.

In our sessions, we focus on making better decisions during real games. That means not just solving puzzles or learning concepts, but understanding when and how to use them.

For students who want to play tournaments, we also work on practical game situations, thinking under pressure and how to approach competitive games with the right thought process.

A typical lesson usually includes:
• learning a key idea in a simple way
• practicing it through puzzles or examples
• applying it in a game
• discussing mistakes and improving thinking

The lessons are interactive and adjusted to your child’s level, so they don’t feel overwhelmed and can actually enjoy the process.

All sessions are one-on-one, which helps me give full attention and guide them based on their pace.

I also share guidance on what they can practice between classes, so the improvement continues outside the lesson as well.
