About Yosuf
I'm a sophomore at Tompkins High School in Katy, Texas, currently taking AP coursework while also running a student-led nonprofit focused on food access in underserved Houston communities, something I co-founded with two other students. My teachers have consistently recognized me as one of the strongest students in History and related subjects, and I've spent significant time building my own study systems, frameworks, and notes to master AP-level material efficiently. I take both academics and responsibility seriously, whether that's managing a nonprofit, staying organized across a demanding course load, or showing up prepared and on time for every lesson. I enjoy helping other students understand material that once confused me, and I know how frustrating it feels to be stuck on a concept, which is exactly why I focus on clear explanations over rushing through content. My approach starts with figuring out exactly where a student is stuck, whether that's memorizing key terms, structuring an essay, or connecting patterns across historical periods and psychological concepts, so we focus only on what actually needs work. A typical lesson includes a quick check on weak spots, focused instruction using study frameworks I built for my own AP coursework, and practice applying that knowledge to writing, test questions, or real-world examples. What sets me apart is that I'm close in age to my students, so I remember exactly what's confusing about this material because I learned it the same way they're learning it now. My own teachers have consistently recognized me as one of the strongest students in these subjects. I'm offering summer lessons for students who want a head start before taking World History, Psychology, or other Social Studies courses next year, building a strong foundation before the school year gets busy for both of us. These lessons are for middle and high school students at any level, regular or AP. I also offer separate Quran lessons for students working on recitation, memorization, or general understanding.
