About Reggie

With 13 years' of experience and a Master’s in Jazz Studies, I offer a rich and well-rounded teaching approach. I’ve performed in jazz groups, big bands, and fusion ensembles. These experiences shape my lessons and teaching style. I help students develop both technical and expressive skills. Rhythm, groove, and improvisation are core elements of my teaching. Students learn how to play musically in any setting. I encourage creativity alongside strong fundamentals. My lessons are customised for each individual. You’ll work on technique, coordination, and musical feel. We explore various genres to broaden your abilities. I emphasise proper practice habits to ensure steady improvement. Students are encouraged to ask questions and try new ideas. My teaching environment is friendly and motivating. I love helping learners discover their musical strengths. Together, we’ll build skills that will last a lifetime. Your growth as a drummer is my top priority.

About the lesson

My drum lessons are designed to help students of all ages and abilities grow steadily in both skill and confidence while fostering a love for music. Each lesson is personalised to suit the student’s goals, whether learning foundational rhythms, improving technical skills, exploring creativity, or preparing for performances. Lessons cover timing, stick technique, hand independence, coordination, groove, dynamics, rhythm reading, and expressive phrasing. I incorporate exercises, play-alongs, improvisation, song practice, and ensemble activities to create a rich and engaging learning experience. Students receive structured practice routines, goal-setting guidance, and strategies to track progress and overcome challenges. My teaching environment is supportive, patient, and motivating, encouraging learners to take risks, experiment, and develop their own musical voice. Lessons emphasise listening, musical awareness, and practical application, helping students play confidently both alone and with others. I celebrate milestones and progress, building motivation, discipline, and self-confidence in each learner. Drumming is not only a technical skill but also a form of personal expression, creativity, and emotional communication. Lessons are designed to blend structure with inspiration, helping students develop versatility, musicality, and independence. Each session is productive, fun, and rewarding, guiding students towards becoming confident, expressive, and capable drummers.
