About Daisy

I am a drum tutor with 19 years of teaching experience and a Bachelor of Music in Performance. I began playing drums at age seven and quickly discovered how naturally rhythm came to me. Over the years, I’ve performed in rock bands, jazz trios, school ensembles, and studio recording sessions. My lessons emphasise strong technique and musical understanding. I believe in building a solid foundation before exploring advanced skills. Students learn stick control, timing, dynamics, and creative expression. I tailor my teaching style to each learner’s interests and strengths. You’ll play songs you enjoy along with exercises designed to strengthen your skills. My approach is patient and clear, helping students feel confident as they progress. I encourage consistency through structured practice routines. I also teach important musical habits such as listening, analysing, and counting rhythms accurately. My goal is to make lessons enjoyable while still maintaining steady progress. I believe anyone can learn drums with the right guidance. I enjoy celebrating student achievements and tracking improvements over time. Teaching drumming brings me immense joy and purpose. I’m committed to helping every student grow into a confident, expressive drummer.

About the lesson

My drum lessons are designed to give beginners a supportive, structured, and fun introduction to drumming while building confidence and foundational skills. Each lesson is tailored to the student’s goals, whether learning basic beats, developing coordination, or preparing to play with other musicians. Lessons cover timing, stick control, hand independence, groove, dynamics, rhythm reading, and musical awareness. I incorporate exercises, play-alongs, song practice, and simple improvisation to make learning practical and engaging. Students receive guidance on effective practice routines, goal-setting, and milestone tracking to ensure consistent progress. My teaching environment is positive, patient, and encouraging, giving learners confidence to experiment and explore creativity. Lessons emphasise listening skills, rhythm comprehension, and practical application in solo and ensemble contexts. Students gradually develop technical proficiency, coordination, independence, and musical confidence. Milestones are celebrated to reinforce progress and maintain motivation.
