I base my foundational view of acting in a Stanislavski type approach. More importantly, I am dedicated to meet the student where they are and build upon their strengths to develop their viewpoint as artists. I strongly believe that self-exploration and a personalized viewpoint of the world will breathe a life of both vital immediacy and depth to audition materials and any scene work. As a playwright, I developed my knowledge through Lajos Egri's "The Art of Dramatic Writing" . The playwright's job is to open the audience up to reality constructed by their perception. I help guide students to find clarity in that perception through cultivating imagination and experience through a mostly trial, error, and feedback approach. I also offer my students any help with pre-writing techniques.
I am foremost an artist who has and will continue to, dedicate my life to the theater and forwarding the artistic conversation. I have trained at multiple programs at both accredited universities and Tony award-winning regional theaters in both straight acting and musical theater. My first full-length play was selected for the Baltimore Playwrights Festival and I am continuing to submit new work to both festivals and theaters calling for open submissions.
I have a 24-hour cancellation policy. If the student cancels after the asked period they will be responsible to pay the totality of their lesson including any additional charges for travel.
