About Dori
Throughout my life I had an openness and curiosity to languages and I ended up learning quite a few at different levels. I have been in the position of the beginner or more advanced language learner enough times to know what it feels like—with the challenges and the excitement! I went to college in my native Hungary and graduated with a five-year degree in French and Art History. My studies prepared me specifically for teaching French at the High School level, and were complete with courses in teaching methodology. I traveled around Europe and spent time in France during my student years. Since then, I have taught French in many different settings—in a high school classroom, in language schools, and in a bilingual school where young children learned French in immersion. By the end of the first school year, they started speaking in sentences! I have also followed the journey of many private students and celebrated their success.

As a trained French teacher, I love to see my students progress towards fluency. There is a point where you discover that you can actually speak independently, and it can be really exciting! It’s similar to learning to ride a bicycle. What seemed intimidating at first is now a new skill that you can treasure and enjoy. Reach your immediate goals in language learning—whether it’s passing an exam, or gaining some fluency before traveling to a French-speaking country—and be ready to continue on your own! I will be happy to guide you with a flexible communicative approach, grammar explanations, advice and encouragement.
