About Katrina
My own journey as a reader started with a phonics education. I benefited enough from those reading skills to skip a grade in elementary school. After my own child started falling through the cracks at school, I felt prompted to start researching dyslexia—reading several books and meeting with several educators and counselors in the process. I helped this child finish online school—3 years worth of credits in 2 years, so that he could graduate on time. During the last two years, I received specialized training and do reading intervention with scholars from K-6th grade at a local charter school. I meet with dozens of students over the course of the year and write daily individualized lesson plans. I know reading and really enjoy getting to know people of all ages and being helpful to them.

It’s hard to improve if you don’t know exactly what’s wrong. I can help assess any areas of struggle in reading and address them with proven techniques. I also like people and enjoy working with them to tailor both the content and tone of sessions to encourage steady progress.
