About Barbara

Remembering when I started on my educational quest my fondest memories were my being a student at a local community college. Although it was challenging, I can remember the support offered and passion held by each employee. Education to me, is an opportunity to change your life. Many are adult learners, like I was, looking for a new beginning, a chance to improve my life, family and the community in some way.

It is my hope that I have this effect on every student I have the pleasure of teaching. To me, it’s not all about coursework, it’s also about life’s work, creating a reason and voice necessary to make a difference.

About the lesson

Recognizing that every student is different, by offering coaching, support to meet individual needs, teaching students how to coordinate resources and employ critical thinking, all intended to motive students to do a little more in order to make their dreams come true.

I am able to pull from general experiences and assimilate the information necessary for implementation or development. Not to mention I understand how it is to be an adult student, the challenges we face to keep going and stay motivated to finish. Improvement and being a change agent fuel my desire to leave things better than I found them.
