About Sébastien

During my time abroad, I had the pleasure of working as a teacher’s assistant at Beijing Language and Culture University, as well as a teacher at Alliance Française de Pékin.
More recently, I’ve enrolled as a mandarin tutor at Université de Montréal for A1-A2 level students.
A true language enthusiast, I have just completed a Bachelor of Arts, with a major in East-Asian studies (China focus) and a minor in translation (English to French).
So yes, I’m sure I can find a way to help you tackle those pesky French grammar exceptions!

About the lesson

I had the privilege of working with students at very different levels throughout my career. This means I’m very good at customizing lessons suited to the students needs and finding the most optimal pedagogical approach.

Whether it’s grammar, reading comprehension, conversational skills or even starting from the ground up, I’ve got you covered!

Perfect! We do conversation sessions and discuss a book together. Sébastien helps correct my errors, suggests better ways of expressing myself and explains the trickier points thoroughly . As a tutor he very is patient and easy to talk to. I especially like how he is passionate about languages.

Sébastien is an absolute pleasure to work with. Kind, patient, and engaging, he has a true passion for not just the French language—but, more specifically, making it accessible to others.

Seb has assisted me with a number of translation projects, and I always walk away from our sessions armed with useful lessons to apply to my French writing moving forward. I’m a much stronger writer for his guidance.

He’s got an in-depth knowledge of the French language, but it’s his approachable nature and ability to simplify challenging concepts that make Sébastien such an excellent teacher.

I had the pleasure of perfecting my French with Sebastien. For certain tasks at my workplace, I felt I needed a little grammar revision to feel more confident and sound more professional. He's super nice, patient and unpretentious. I highly recommend him.
