About Beatrice

1. Taught a class of elementary children in the summer (2018) to help them maintain what they've learned in Chinese class throughout the school year. Classes included, story telling, arts and crafts, cooking/baking, sports day, etc. Children were able to learn and have fun speaking amongst their peers in that class and after.

2. Helped tutor foreigners Cantonese while I was in Hong Kong for nineteen months. With their effort in learning it well, they were able to later teach in Cantonese while living in Hong Kong.

3. I’ve trained fellow employees in both languages for my work and spoke in front of thousands during a convention held in Shanghai, China.

About the lesson

I grew up in Malaysia, where we mainly spoke English, Malay, Mandarin Chinese and Cantonese. I've later lived in Hong Kong and Shanghai, China, where I was able to not only brush up my communication skills but also immerse myself in their cultures and livelihood, these experiences have helped me see and understand their language expression, and how to better articulate my responses. So, if that is what you're looking for, I'd love to share my experiences with you so that we can become better together!

My main idea for this class is to help you communicate confidently and comfortably in the language, so I'll be on this journey with you.

We can tailor the class to your needs and your own personal goals in learning these languages. Together we set up these classes with the options of (Listening/Writing/Oral), in each class you will also have the option of choosing a more serious classroom atmosphere or a casual learning but culturally filled experience in/outside of a classroom setting. It doesn't matter if you're fluent in the language and would like someone to practice with, or an absolute beginner and would also love to understand the culture, or a parent that wants to learn the language with your children, my only wish is that you will be confident and ready to interactive in Mandarin/Cantonese whenever it gets thrown at you!
