About Daragh
My name is Daragh McGoldrick and I am a first year Trinity Engineering student from Sutton. This means that I am still studying maths daily and I will be receiving a BA in Maths when I graduate.
I've always loved maths, in particular the natural problem solving nature of it. Due to this I chose all maths based subjects for the Leaving Cert; Applied Maths, Accounting and Physics, excelling in all of them.
I received the 5th year Applied Maths award. In February of this year I competed in the national Team Maths competition and was highly commended. At the end of sixth year I sat a college level maths paper with all the top maths students in the year. Based on this exam I was awarded the 6th year maths award.
I love helping people, especially with maths and I strive to ensure all my students succeed in Maths, whether that's getting a distinction or just keeping up higher maths, which is an achievement in itself!

I have given a number of grinds to both second years and thirds years of all skill sets.
I have also been consistently helping my friends and classmates outside of class time with topics they struggled with for the last number of years.
My main teaching methodology is going through both questions from the various maths books and exam questions, as I firmly believe that with Maths in particular practice makes perfect and it takes consistent work to understand and improve, it is not a subject you can improve on by reading over the book or notes!
I am very quick at identifying a student's level and then tailoring my lesson in order to suit it and maximise their learning.
Typical lessons are an hour long, primarily over zoom however it may be possible to arrange in person lessons

Daragh helped me through my leaving cert maths to eventually obtain a H1. His patient and focused tuition allowed me to work on my weaknesses and improve my general understanding of maths. Starting from the basics he broke down each topic into approachable sections which I loved and thought really worked for me.
