About Honor
Hi! I’m Honor, a music student in Manchester. I have taught beginner brass players in Cumbria for the last two years with the RNCM’s Brass Engage programme, and I have been tutoring GCSE English with The Tutor Trust for the last year. ️ I have been playing brass instruments for 13 years, and have played with brass bands, function bands, musical theatre bands, jazz bands, brass quintets, and probably any other ensemble you can think of! My passions include musical theatre, crochet, cooking, and reading. My favourite shows are Billy Elliot and Jersey Boys! While I’m not tutoring or practising, I work at a zipwire course at weekends and volunteer with a local women’s charity!

I am a friendly and encouraging tutor, and I love finding new ways to simplify and understand difficult concepts with my students. I can teach trumpet from absolute beginner level to grade 5. I can also help with music theory and GCSE music, in which I achieved a Grade 9. Having switched between a range of brass instruments from tuba all the way up to trumpet, I understand how difficult it can be getting to grips with a new instrument, so I am always keen to support new players to overcome frustrations!
