About Romain

After having studied music and played the trumpet for 13 years at the Rennes music conservatory with 4 different trumpet teachers, and participations in about ten orchestras, I think I have acquired the experience and the level sufficient to teach at my tours the basics and the fundamentals of this instrument, like music in general. I indeed validated my end of second cycle in music theory, and continued the trumpet another 4 years after that.

I am able to teach students of different levels, up to the equivalent of an end of second cycle in trumpet, and a middle of second cycle in music theory.

About the lesson

As the trumpet is a physical instrument, which works a lot on breathing, lip positioning and endurance, lessons and personal training must be structured. Thus, all my classes will take place according to the same organization:
- 10 minutes of warm-up to warm up the lips and awaken the particular breathing process necessary for the trumpet
- 15 minutes of technical work to improve the mastery of the instrument and be able to play more and more interesting pieces
- 15 minutes of work on a piece or an etude to work on the musical and emotional aspect conveyed by the instrumentalist
- 5 minutes of "cleansing" so that the muscles used and the lips are back in shape the next day to work on again

Each stage will be separated by a 3 to 5 minute break to allow the student to play until the end of the course.

With my teaching, the student will be able to have a round, beautiful and singing sound, a precise technique and a wide range of notes.
