About Niki
I performed as an actress in Children's Theatre for a decade, taking a break to spend a year as an au pair in the US and China. On return to South Africa, I also freelanced as an On-Set Childminder in the Johannesburg Film Industry.
I became a drama coach, before training hundreds of people to teach drama in schools across Johannesburg, Pretoria, and Cape Town.
Once again, I took a break to spend some time in Mauritius, working with children at a holiday club and learning some basic French for six months. I now tutor full time at a Homeschool center in Johannesburg for 25 hours a week. I specialize in English, Afrikaans, and Drama for F.E.T., and can teach almost any subject in Grades 9 and under, excluding Maths.

Sometimes, English speaking kids simply can't wrap their heads around the colourful Afrikaans language.
STOMPI.... Woordsoorte... Trappe van Vergelyking... Die hond blaf....
It all seems so confusing! Whats more, even if you get an Afrikaans speaking tutor, sometimes things just don't "click".
What if you could have a tutor who could think like an English-speaker, but is fluent in Afrikaans? That's where I come in. I have grown up around Afrikaans speakers and have spent my life trying to learn languages such as Zulu, Greek and French and yet - I can't help thinking in English.
Since I was 10 years old, I have been building a toolbox of little tricks and tips to help me wrap my head around the colourful languages spoken in our country and abroad.
I'm more than happy to share these with you, and encourage you to give me a go.
Best case scenario:
Your Afrikaans neighbour says, "Nou gaan ons braai"
You respond confidently "Ja, ek stem saam. Dit is my voorneme om die heerlikste ete vir jou en al ons bure voor te berei."
Worst case scenario : We have a few laughs, and you bring up your marks for the Kwartaaltoets by 5%.
