About Catarina
My first experience tutoring was at 16, teaching piano to children aged 6–11. It's where I discovered a genuine enjoyment in being a part of others' evolution and learning. Despite being a moody teenager balancing academics, sports, and extracurricular commitments, I always made time for my students. I've always thrived in busy environments and believe this helps me relate to students who may need support with organization, motivation, and managing demanding workloads.
I come from a multicultural background: I am Portuguese and spent 15 years living in Southeast Asia, where I completed the International Baccalaureate program. I then moved to London to study Psychology at King's College London, where I developed a strong interest in human behavior, education, and global health. I am now moving to Sweden to pursue a degree in Humanitarian Action, with the goal of building a career in humanitarian aid and healthcare policy.

My lessons are aimed at IB students studying HL or SL English Language & Literature and HL or SL Psychology. I also offer support with the Extended Essay (EE) and Theory of Knowledge (TOK), areas in which I have personal experience and confidence from my own time in the IB program.
My approach to tutoring is tailored to each individual's needs and goals. Having completed the IB in Thailand with four HL subjects, I understand the challenges of balancing demanding coursework and developing effective study strategies.
