About Maisha
I am a highly self-motivated, reliable and flexible tutor; I enjoy working with children in order to help them to achieve their very best. Please feel free to share any queries you may have with me.
I was a peer mentor to younger pupils for two years at sixth form; I volunteered at a local junior school for an hour a week for a year (helped 7-11-year-olds with their reading); I had a work experience placement at a primary school for a week, where I assisted teachers teaching children of all ages (for the whole day); I undertook another work experience placement: I worked at YMCA in Spain for a week, where I interacted with and assisted children aged 2 and over; I was a prefect on the school bus for a year, where I assisted secondary school pupils with any issues that may have occurred during the journey.
I sat the 11+ entrance exam and attended a grammar school during my secondary school years, where I sat 11 GCSEs and 4.5 A-levels; I believe that my academic experience and knowledge would greatly benefit other students and help them to achieve their full potential.
Regarding availability, I am currently only available on weekends and, very occasionally, some Wednesday and Friday late afternoons. However, I may be flexible with timing for loyal clients.
Prizes and Scholarships :
Senior Maths Challenge, Duke of Edinburgh, KS3 award for excellence in Spanish.
