Methodology
My teaching method is based on the individual needs of my students. I hope that during our first meeting I can gain some information about how the individual learns and their personal background. This will help me to create a lesson specific to the needs and desired achievements for my student. We will work together to create something that works.
Background
I am a poet from Pittsburgh. I study Pedagogy & Creative writing in the MFA program at Chatham University. I am published in OPEN: Journal of Arts & Letters, Capulet Mag, Coffee Zine, Panopoly, and Cathexis Northwest Press. I am an Editor for The Fourth River Review.

While Emily was still at W&J she helped my oldest daughter with high school English. She was so passionate. She spent so much time learning with my daughter. Then, when Emily went to graduate school she continued to tutor in my family. I connected her to my sister and she helped with her son as well. Great teacher!

Emily is an amazing tutor!! She really knows how to tailor her tutoring to each individual. Her strong communication skills allows her to explain things in a way that the individual understands. Emily is a great teacher and I would highly recommend her to anyone!
She is very dependable. I always felt like she was well prepared and so patient when it comes to challenges. She works with her students in a comforting and encouraging way. I would highly recommend.
