I have taught reading from phonetics to leveling up reading skills, building solid paragraphs and papers. I have taught math skills from number identification, to multiplication tables, using 2-digit multipliers and divisors, geometry and algebra. My first goal is to find out what the child knows and where we need to focus on growth. Repetition helps but connecting learning to real-life experiences is key for retention. A typical lesson plan depends on the student and level. I try to personalize my strategy to fit the student.
