Lots of my techniques involve writing out the chemical equation that way you can understand what all in all is happening. Often times in chemistry, you miss a lot of easy things that you already knew but just forgot to write down, so this technique tends to help. I also like using 3-D diagrams when it comes to Organic Chemistry to show all of their geometric properties.
