About Parmis
I’ve been working as a tutor for around 4 years, and up until this year, I was an assistant teacher at Spirit of Math. My ultimate goal is to pursue a career as a surgeon. I have a genuine love for learning and teaching, and that energy is mirrored by my students. In my free time I love learning about Greek mythology, reading math philosophy books, and watching history documentaries. I will be graduating from the IB program this year! I am the co-president of my school’s debate club, and my other extracurriculars include IB council, Peer Mentors, and Newspaper club. I also run an initiative that has helped raise over $10,000 for people struggling in poverty in Iran. I am an ambitious tutor and encourage my students to do the same!

My aim is to make sure that all my students excel in the four pillars of evaluation used by teachers (application, knowledge, understanding, and communication). Therefore, I take an understanding based approach to learning, I ensure that all my students are fluent in the material and are prepared for whatever the teacher throws at them. In math, this looks like the correct use of formulas, but also what the different variables represent and how they were derived. In science, this resembles the use of effective analogies and real life examples. I create an atmosphere in which students are comfortable asking me questions without fearing judgement. I go out of my way to ensure that my students excel in school and get the help they need. I hope you join my classes! Phone number: (concealed information), email: (concealed information)
