About Charles

I am a medical student at Imperial College London with 2 years of tutoring experience. I take great satisfaction in helping students develop a deeper understanding of maths, while also strengthening my own knowledge and professional skills. I value learning from others and appreciate different approaches to problem-solving, which makes my lessons collaborative, flexible, and tailored to each student’s needs.

About the lesson

Maths Tutoring – Flexible, Effective, Student-Focused Need help making sense of algebra, geometry, or tricky exam questions?

I offer personalised online lessons designed to build confidence, strengthen understanding, and improve exam performance.

What I provide:
Webcam-based sessions tailored to each student’s needs
Clear explanations of concepts followed by practice with past paper questions
Flexible structure – lessons can shift between topics depending on what you need most
Sessions from 30 minutes to 2 hours (typically 1 hour) to fit your schedule

My experience:
Nearly 2 years of tutoring GCSE and IGCSE Maths
Proven track record – every student I’ve worked with has achieved their target grade
Teaching students from Year 7 to Year 12, and happy to support learners of any age up to A Level

I have tutored Daniel's daughter is GCSE AQA Triple Physics now for a few weeks, she is an incredibly bright girl who I have no doubts will succeed in achieving high grades at GCSE and in A-level if she chooses to pursue them. She is consistently engaged and not afraid to say when I have not explained something clearly or in an approachable manner. Cheryl has an open mind when learning new topics that she has not yet covered in school and does not shy away from an academic challenge, I look forward to future sessions with her, helping really solidify her knowledge of the basics and use of exam techniques whilst also exposing her to higher level content so she can have a little insight if she chooses a future in science.

Safwan (Mahbu’s son) is an inquisitive and bright young boy who excels in maths and science. He consistently questions why things work and has the confidence to ask for further clarification when he does not fully grasp concepts or topics. I know charles on a freindship level, he was always very dedicated and hardworking through school. He is really good with his maths and science and has often supported me. Charles teaching mehods often consist with going through exam papers, letting his students anserw the question but explaining and showing them different methods if they go wrong. He also makes you aware of the mark scheme so you know how long or how much to do on a questions. I feel charles enthuasiom into his teaching is shown by how well is students do

Personally if I ever struggled with anything maths-related (which was quite often) I knew I could always go to Charles for advice and he’d do an excellent job of breaking down concepts that seemed difficult to me at first however I soon understood. I would absolutely recommend Charles to anyone looking for maths tutoring as he is not only a mathematics expert and a great teacher, he is also a great communicator and a friendly, warm person who has the ability to build a great rapport with new people :)
