About Alisha
Studying physics has fundamentally changed the way I see the world, and I want to help others experience that same shift in perspective.
My approach to tutoring goes beyond teaching students how to solve individual problems. Of course, we'll work through the syllabus and exam questions, but I also want students to learn how to approach unfamiliar problems: breaking them down, identifying what's relevant, and connecting what they already know to what they're being asked to find.
There is only so much anyone can memorize, no matter how good their memory is. But when you understand the reasoning behind an equation, you have something to fall back on even when you can't remember the exact formula. I want students to develop the confidence to work things out for themselves, rather than feel stuck the moment they forget something.
Ultimately, my goal is to help students succeed academically while developing the skills to tackle problems they haven't seen before. Because learning shouldn't just prepare you to answer the questions you've practiced; it should prepare you to figure out the ones you haven't.

Physics & Math Tutoring | Years 8–12 & University | Personalized, Neurodivergent-Friendly Learning
Struggling with a tricky physics concept, getting stuck on math problems, or unsure how to prepare for an upcoming exam? Let's work through it together!
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Loyola University New Orleans and am currently pursuing a Master of Science in Medical Radiation Physics at the University of Wollongong (UOW).
I offer personalized tutoring in Physics and Mathematics for Years 8–12, as well as undergraduate physics, with a focus on building understanding, developing problem-solving skills, and helping students approach exams with a clearer strategy.
What I can help with:
- Subject tutoring: Breaking down difficult concepts into manageable, understandable steps.
- Problem-solving: Working through questions methodically and understanding *why* a solution works, rather than just memorizing formulas.
- Exam preparation: Developing study strategies, practicing exam-style questions, and learning how to approach unfamiliar problems.
- Personalized learning: Adapting lessons to your current level, learning preferences, and specific goals.
Learning that works for you
I believe tutoring should be built around the student, not the other way around. Everyone learns differently, so I tailor lessons to your needs, whether that means revisiting the fundamentals, tackling challenging questions, or preparing for an important assessment.
As a neurodivergent student myself, I understand that conventional study methods don't work for everyone. I'm happy to help neurodivergent students explore practical, individualized study strategies that work with their brains, not against them.
Whether you're looking for ongoing subject support or a few focused sessions before an exam, get in touch and tell me what you'd like help with. We can work out a plan that suits your goals.
