About Ravi
I am a student reading Computer Science at Trinity Hall, University of Cambridge going into my second year.
Computer Science interests me, since it entails everything to do with problem solving. Learning “how to” program is like teaching your brain a new way to think and solve problems. The skills that I have picked up have benefited other courses I have done and have given me a new outlook on what the subject really is.
I have been through the public-school system from primary school straight through to 6th form where I was predicted B grades at AS level. At the end of year 12 I sat A Level Mathematics one year early and got an A* grade with 588/600 UMS.
My grades did not always reach the top, however over the course of 6th form I developed independent teaching/revision methods and resources that allowed me to enjoy what I was learning and provide a balanced working life, improving my academic performance.
I have provided tuition in my subject areas in addition to Oxbridge preparation and Personal Statement assistance. I have
· Reviewed Computing Coursework projects
· Taught A Level Computing lessons in April.
· Tutoring with students in person and over Skype.
· helped to shape and review personal statements (range of disciplines).
I have gained first-hand experience of how to deliver and receive small group teaching from leading academic experts.
It is important to establish clear goals to work towards, and additionally to grasp the students interests and aims towards higher education, so I can attempt to link what they are learning to subjects they may pursue in the future.
I want to help establish good methods to work independently of teachers, such as making revision resources, methods to self-teach and absorb content all using what I experienced.
Each session is tailored to each student, which is dependant on what they want to study. Each subject is unique in terms of how content can be delivered. For Mathematics the best method is often using exam style questions to both improve, and measure progress. Computer Science and Physics are more discussion based when it comes to learning content, asking students to teach me something they are trying to learn is helpful to consolidate understanding, I can help by providing extra information and corrections. I can also help them understand what they need to know for the exam and how to approach questions.

I've known Ravi since high school, ever since we've been really good friends. Ravi is an amazing person who has helped me a lot throughout my GCSEs as well as A levels.
