My tuition method is adaptable to the needs and main difficulties of each student. I like above all to help students and, during this process, to create a good friendship. As I always enjoyed helping colleagues during classes, I decided to apply so I could share my knowledge with more people. My aim is to help students to enhance their technical and social skills so they are able to succeed both in their academic and professional career. Many of the students I mentor go on to work as programmers and software development professionals, with others pursuing further study and careers in teaching and research.

  • Can you tell us about your first experience using a computer?

I discovered my passion for computers at a very early stage in my life. At the age of 7, I received my first video game console at Christmas (XBOX PAL) and today, looking back, I realize I was completely fascinated with it. My first experience with a computer happened later. I certainly took that opportunity to play the well-known pinball game Full Tilt Pinball on Windows XP or to improve my drawing skills in Paint.
  • What is the technological evolution that has marked you most and what will be, in your eyes, a turning point in this field?

I remember being quite curious and perplexed when Nintendo announced its first console Wii. I can perfectly remember seeing ads for the console on TV and trying to figure out how could those wireless controllers and motion sensors work together in real time!
Very recently I listened to The Joe Rogan Experience podcast with Elon Musk and I was abesbyl about the Neuralink project, if it comes to fruition it will forever change the world as we know it today.
  • Explain your expertise, your interest in it and, more broadly, its importance in the computer world.

My academic background includes a lot of software development. However, I aspire to be part of projects in which technology comes across with the two areas that fascinate me the most: Music and Psychology.
  • Do so-called 'visionaries', such as Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg inspire you or do you have other role models?

I believe it was an incessant and disruptive desire to change the world, I think this was the fuel for the legacy they will leave and that will be perpetuated forever.
  • Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

There's a funny story I'd like to mention, although it wasn't very funny at the time! When I started university, I missed two weeks of classes for personal reasons. I had never programmed and I didn't know anyone from my classes, this first period of time made a huge difference in my adaptation. There was a module from that first semester that was particularly difficult, and also the professor wasn't that good. In a practical class near the end of the semester, while the other students were solving an exercise on the computer, I had to leave the class early. The teacher, without being asked anything, said: "Don't expect to pass this module, that way you won't go far." I managed to finish the module that semester and the rest is history.
  • What would you say to an uncomfortable person in front of a screen who says that "IT is too complicated"?

I would ask that person to think step by step and I would say that nothing is impossible. It's true that for each person the learing pace is different, but I believe that a subject should always try to be the best version of theirself, at least that worked for me.
  • What are your other passions, related or non-related to computers?

I like above all to learn about different topics but also to read and to exercise the body!
  • What makes you a Superprof in IT?

First, the devotion that fuels my work and that I use to dedicate myself to each student. Then, the sharing of the "know-how" that I acquired working for companies, the importance of emotional intelligence, the ability to work with others and the importance of humility during the learning process. Finally, always having the goal to empower my students with the knowledge and tools for them to succeed not only in their professional lives but also in everything they dedicate themselves to.
