About Wai
At the first meeting, I will start with a confident and friendly introduction, and briefly share my academic background, qualifications, teaching experience, teaching style, and my passion for mathematics and chemistry. I will always dress neatly and always show up on time. Then I will have a conversation with the student and his parents to understand the student's level, his style and personality, and use the information to personalize my teaching approach. Of course, I will prepare lesson plans with an outline for each session, based on the materials and books that the student is using. I will be patient and approachable to the student. Give praise and also get feedback from the student. From time to time, I will follow up with his parents to give a brief update on progress and next steps.

Teaching method and technique: Make complex concepts easy to understand by breaking down complex concepts into smaller steps, using diagrams and charts whenever possible. Encourage active learning. Focus on analysis. Emphasize practice. A typical lesson plan: With a brief review of previous material, then an introduction to new concepts with step-by-step explanation. Pay attention to the response of the student, give student guided practice. Finally, focus on independent practice and a short recap of the learning. Remind the student to rethink about my lesson. What sets me apart as a tutor: Tailor each lesson to the specific needs and styles of the student. Always use diagrams and relatable examples to help the student understand. Also strongly encourage the student to ask questions, encourage the student to think independently, get the student in problem-solving activities, and provide constructive feedback regularly. To be very patient, very passionate, and very supportive, especially when a student is struggling. My lessons are for students from grade 1 to grade 10.
