About Douglas

I have been a private tutor since 1998 and am a Wesleyan University graduate. I tutor multiple subjects for grades 1-12 (including English, Elementary Math, Algebra I, and Geometry), test preparation (including the ISEE, HSPT, and SAT), and English as a Second Language (ESL) to children and adults. I have also tutored writing proficiency and math at Score Education Center - an after-school tutoring center for students, ages 5-15. To aid in my English and ESL tutoring, I draw on my years of experience as copy editor for IBM/NY Times Custom Publishing and editor of novels, graduate-level research papers, and news stories for broadcast on commercial radio and television stations.

About the lesson

I modify the pace and content of my tutoring to fit the distinct personality and learning style of each student. My primary goal is the quality of my tutoring, not the quantity of subjects covered. I simplify my lessons to ease the learning process for my students.
