My philosophy with teaching is for the students to truly understand and digest the concept so that they can apply it themselves
Lesson Plan:
Go over previous questions assigned for homework to see if there are any problems or anything that the student does not understand.
Then move on to the lesson:
Introduce and explain the concept that will be learnt today
Complete some basic example problems of how to apply the concept.
Let the students try the examples.
Then go into further detail variations of the concept and more difficult questions to apply the concepts
When letting students complete questions, I like to give a few easy ones first and let them learn the concept first then give out hard ones as I find making mistakes or struggling on questions is the easiest way for students to learn the concepts. If I find a student struggling, I would slowly give out necessary hints and complete the problem with them.
-Will be extra helpful if student is attending Pinetree Secondary!
