About Tina
I am a student majoring in International Relations at UBC. I had been a student at Kumon Math for 11 years and was employed there for two. I received coaching and mentoring from the institution as well as a UBC professor.

My goal of the classes focuses on holistic comprehension. This will include creating diagrams, analogies, speaking with simple language and teaching the theory behind the math, not simply the steps to finding the answer. My approach to teaching is student-led. A typical class would be to discuss with the student about their homework and find out which method of teaching is the most effective (visual diagrams, logic and reasoning, problem-solving etc), then have the student present to me questions they don't understand and I would help them identify exactly what they don't understand. Then I would use one (or a combination of many) of my teaching methods to help them have a holistic understanding of their homework. Available for math levels K-12.
