About Brian
I am a recent graduate with a mathematics degree from UCI. I've been teaching in summer schools and tutoring facilities since 2010 in both compulsory and competition level mathematics. Throughout these years I have taught both in single and classroom settings, and have always aimed to be a flexible instructor.

I always aim to empathize with students and approach problems based on their hobbies/interests, coming up with ways to apply mathematics in their work to their hobbies. With singular students, I prioritize giving varied, atypical explanations when concepts become unintuitive. The most common problem in modern mathematics teaching is that students are always given a 'one size fits all' explanation that doesn't always suit their intuition. The second most common problem is that students are not taught the practical ways in which mathematical concepts permeate our everyday lives. I always seek to integrate these ideas into my teaching.
