About Arushi
As a first year Biological Sciences student at UCL, I have experienced first-hand the struggles of being a student during the pandemic and would love to help provide effective online 1:1 tutoring for those at all levels. Since I have recently left school, I know the style of exams and the content students are expected to know. I received A*A*A (Biology, Chemistry, Maths) at A-level and 9/A*s at GCSE. In Sixth Form I helped run Biology surgeries for GCSE students and volunteered to assist teachers in year 9 classes. This involved preparing lesson plans, providing notes/revision guides and helping improve exam technique.

Everyone has a different approach to learning, so lessons will be flexible and tailored to the needs of the student. Lessons would be delivered in an interactive way and questions or mini tests can be provided to help consolidate learning. Notes and diagrams can also be provided to accompany each topic. However, students could also use the session to go through classwork, homework or exam papers.
When I was revising for my exams, I found that exam technique was one of the main reasons why I was losing marks. I personally found that answering exam papers was the best way to improve this. Some lessons could be used to go through past papers with the mark schemes to help identify areas where exam technique can be improved.
