About Melissa

I’m a dedicated and approachable tutor with a genuine passion for helping students reach their full potential. I hold a Master’s degree from UCL and have several years of experience supporting learners in Maths and English, from primary school through to GCSE and A Level. My background has taught me the importance of patience, clear communication, and building confidence step by step. I take pride in creating a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and aren’t afraid to make mistakes. I enjoy breaking down complex ideas into simple, manageable steps, and I’m committed to helping each student develop the skills and self-belief they need to succeed both academically and personally. Whether you’re aiming to boost your grades, prepare for exams, or simply feel more confident in class, I’ll work with you to create a plan that suits your goals and learning style. Above all, I care about making a real difference and helping students enjoy the learning process.

About the lesson

I take a calm, structured, and student-focused approach to tutoring. Every learner is different, so I begin by understanding their current level, confidence, and goals. From there, I tailor each lesson to their needs, whether that’s building a stronger foundation in key topics, improving exam technique, or developing problem-solving and writing skills. My lessons are usually one hour long, but I can adjust the length depending on the student’s age and focus. I combine clear explanations with lots of practice questions and real examples so students can apply what they learn straight away. I also like to review progress regularly to make sure we’re moving in the right direction and to help students see how far they’ve come. I hold a Master’s degree from UCL and have experience supporting students from primary through to GCSE and A Level. I teach both Maths and English, and I’ve worked with learners who are preparing for exams as well as those who simply want to build confidence in their studies. My lessons are suitable for students who want a patient, encouraging tutor who explains things clearly and helps them find the best way to learn. I believe that with the right support and mindset, every student can make real progress and start enjoying the subjects they once found challenging.
