About Shangavi
Hello, I’m Shangavi and I'm currently studying Medicine at UCL. I chose to enter the medical field as I genuinely enjoy helping others and seeing how incredibly impactful it can be. This passion is reflected in my love for helping students tackle difficult concepts and seeing how their confidence and curiosity grow over time! Through my years of experience tutoring and mentoring, I developed a value for creating a comfortable space where I can get to know the student and they can also feel confident enough to ask any questions they may have. My achievements of all A*s at A level and all 9s at GCSE have given me the confidence to share my love for learning with others and inspire any medical applicants to persevere through difficult but important years. I look forward to meeting you and working together so that you feel prepared for your exams as well as for any learning throughout your life!

My teaching experience involves helping many students improve in Chemistry, as well as mentoring medical applicants through the application process! For lessons in Chemistry, our first free meeting is what I will use to help me get to know you better and discuss what styles of learning you prefer. This way I can adapt my teaching methods and resources to ensure you learn in the way that is most effective for you. We usually start off by discussing your strengths and weaknesses in the topic, followed by solidifying your understanding of the theory through diagrams and fun problem-solving methods, then finally consolidating your learning by putting it into practice, in the form of some exam-style questions to put into practice the tips and tricks of exam technique. Fundamentally, all my sessions value teaching in a way that is engaging, interactive and more importantly centred around you, as the student.
