About Rafat
I am a scientific jack of all trades. From my undergraduate degree in Chemistry to my master’s in Organic Synthesis (both undertaken at King’s College London) to my current PhD in MRI Physics (at UCL) I’ve a broad understanding of the interconnectivity of the three main branches of science and how the divulge into fields such as Molecular Genetics and Physical Chemistry
I have prior experience of tutoring, often on a 1 to 1 basis for university students. Whilst having previously attended a grammar school, I also understand the need for extra help throughout secondary school/sixth form/college and have some experience with 11-18 year olds.
My current research involves identifying tumours in a variety of cancer types, but more specifically breast and prostate, and then measuring the metabolism of the aforementioned to determine as to how aggressive they are.

My teaching method is built around the curriculum provided by the school/university. I meticulously plan lessons such that all points outlined are addressed. Despite this, I am a firm believer in learning for the sake of learning and not just to pass exams. As such, I put in a concerted effort to afford my students a genuine understanding of what I teach.
I, also, appreciate that no two people are the same, as such no two people can be taught the same way. Some people can regurgitate facts, others require a more kinaesthetic approach. From prepared slides to a blank whiteboard, my methods vary and are tailored to maximise learning for the student.
