About Nathan

I'm a half-Irish, half-French UCL student reading Politics and International Relations, with a deep-rooted love for language, culture, and the messy, beautiful space where identities collide. Growing up in Hong Kong my whole life, I navigated a truly international education and understand firsthand what it's like to learn a language outside your "home" context — because I've lived it. At UCL, I spend my days analysing global politics, constructing rigorous arguments, and understanding how power and communication intersect, which means I bring sharp analytical thinking to every tutoring session without ever losing the human touch. I'm patient, adaptable, and genuinely invested in your progress — whether you're terrified of tenses or just want to finally sound like yourself in French.

About the lesson

My tutoring isn't about boring drills or stale textbooks — it's about getting you to think, speak, and sound like a local. Every 60-minute session (with 30-minute or 90-minute options if that fits you better) kicks off with real conversation to shake off the nerves, then dives into grammar through whatever actually excites you — film, fashion, philosophy, football, you name it — because language sticks when it means something to you. My bicultural background means I don't just know French — I know exactly where English speakers trip up and exactly how to fix it, and I've already helped fellow UCL students and friends transform their hesitant French into genuine confidence. Whether you're a total beginner or pushing for fluency, aged 16 or 60, prepping for exams or just tired of sounding like a textbook, I'll meet you where you are and take you further than you thought possible.
