About James
My name is James Sherman, and I have a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. My major concentrations were thermal energy and propulsion systems. I also have research experience in Astrophysics and Biomedical Engineering. I am currently a Ph.D. candidate at UCLA in Aerospace Engineering with focuses in fluid mechanics and plasma physics. I have over 7 years teaching experience, including TAing at the University level, and about 5 years private tutoring.

My teaching method is focused on repetition. That means that I like to derive any formulae that a student may need to use and show several ways of applying them to problems. I then push the student to use these in some problems. Once the student has completed several questions, I go over each problem using the students work in order to figure out their thought process and correct any problems in their logic as needed.

The above rates are for any student in high school or above.
If a student in middle school requires tutoring I have a flat rate of $30/hour.
The cost of travel is to cover my gasoline as I will be travelling to your home for your convenience!
Group Lessons will be discounted as follows:
2 students: $30/hour
3 or more students: $20/hour
Online lessons will have a flat rate of $30/hour
