About Matthew

Hello! I graduated summa cum laude from UCLA in 2023 with a B.S. in Molecular Biology and currently work as a science researcher. In Sept. 2022, I scored a 524 on the MCAT (132 C/P, 129 CARS, 132 B/B, 131 P/S). I'm deeply familiar with this intensive journey, and I’m here to share valuable insights and techniques that worked for me, help reduce stress and stay on track, and build confidence to help you conquer this test.

With 800+ hours of teaching experience, I’ve helped students achieve their goals in various settings. In college, I worked as a group tutor for upper-division biochemistry where I designed my own review materials and as a teaching assistant for introductory organic chemistry. In my private tutoring work I also guide high school students with AP classes.

Custom-Tailored Systems to Build Mastery:
My teaching philosophy focuses on specialized support catered to your unique needs. My experience is that strong results come with applied practice, so a cornerstone of our sessions will involve dissecting questions from your practice tests to identify root causes of mistakes and strengthen your understanding. I believe in developing knowledge of core concepts over rote memorization, and we'll uncover the “how/why” behind concepts so you are equipped to tackle those inevitable tougher questions.

Elevate Your Test-Taking Strategies:
The MCAT is about strategy on top of knowledge. We’ll optimize your testing approach to gain this edge, like efficiently extracting useful information by skimming, decoding what questions are asking for, and how to make good educated guesses for unfamiliar questions to make the difference in achieving your highest score.

If you’re ready to take the next step toward your goals, I’d love to work with you to turn your dedication and hard work into the score you deserve! Please reach out for a free consultation to discuss your needs and how I can help you maximize your potential.
