I want to encourage critical thinking and opening pathways to stronger ambition and self-esteem. This would involve a combination of slideshows/introductions, insightful conversations for personalized assistance, active practice and reflection goals with the student.
A typical lesson plan would include a quick icebreaker/conversation, a goal for the day, and a long-term goal that we would work on. I would encourage journaling and self-reflection to discover their passion or to continue their existing passions.
As a tutor, I provide an in-depth student perspective, and have already worked with 10+ kids in their path to self-improvement. I also helped two students extensively in their college application process, both of whom will be attending UCLA this fall.
The lessons are for 10th-12th grade students who are interested in self-maximizing and in search of a mentor or tutor to guide them. My only caveat is that the student has to be willing to learn.
