About Billy
I am a Freshman Electrical Engineering major with a minor in Statistics in the Honors Program at the University of Connecticut. I have been tutoring in various STEM subjects since the start of my Sophomore year in high school. I have taught upwards of two dozen students, many of whom were repeat students over long periods of time. My students have thanked me countless times for helping them improve on their exam performance and for helping them achieve a genuine understanding of the subject matter at hand.

As a Freshman Electrical Engineering major, my skills lie mainly in STEM fields. I am comfortable tutoring anyone grades 7-12 in subjects of Math, Physics, Stats, Computer Science, or other similar fields. My teaching method is based almost entirely on helping my students understand the subject, rather than simply giving them the answers to their homework. This promotes better learning habits in general, and it has the most direct positive effect on class performance. I teach through examples and by targeting problem areas; when a student gets stumped, I work with him/her to isolate the problem and explain the issue in different ways until it is clear to me that he/she fully understands the concept.

We were classmates and he helped me with Calculus homework and AP Computer Science and in both cases he honestly explained the material better than my teacher did. Genuinely a big help. Could not recommend more.
Billy is a long time friend of mine who has always helped me with my math classes. He was a great resource to have when taking Pre-calculus and AP Calulus in highschool. Whenever I didn't understand a concept or technique, I would ask him for help and he would take the time to explain it in multiple ways until I had a full understanding and felt comfortable practicing it myself. Additionally, he is very knowledgable in computer science and has helped me with numerous python assignments for my college level computer science course. Overall, Billy has a strong background in STEM courses and would be a great tutor.
